Revenge of the Mascots
In a moment that screams “only in baseball,” a poor player found himself at the mercy of the infamous green mascot. The Phillie Phanatic clearly took pregame entertainment to a whole new level, turning what should’ve been a routine field moment into an unexpected wrestling match. We can tell this is not how this unfortunate player envisioned the day going.
Mascots are supposed to hype the crowd, not leave athletes questioning their life and career choices. Whether this was an accident or part of the act, it’s safe to say the Phanatic stole the spotlight, and possibly a little dignity, too.
