カールは混雑した通路を進み、頭上の列をスキャンして自分の座席を探した。自分の列を見つけると、他の乗客の荷物でいっぱいになった頭上の荷物入れに手荷物を入れようとした。何度か試した後、彼は何とか手荷物を押し込んだが、金属製の縁が指に食い込んだ。
