Mi padrastro se sorprendió cuando el día de la fiesta llegaron las personas del catering bien temprano. Él no pensó que yo tuviera la capacidad de organizar una fiesta tan importante. Cuando me vio que yo iba a la peluquería, me preguntó de una manera despectiva por qué no me peinaba sola.
Mi padrastro también me miró con gesto burlón cuando me vio ya preparada. Fue una mirada muy especial, de sorpresa e incredulidad. Nunca lo había visto mirarme así. Era como que estaba descubriendo que debajo de la oruga que él conocía, había una maravillosa y sorprendente mariposa dispuesta a comenzar a volar.
