Deniz Yücel und Dilek Mayatürk – 5 jahre
Deniz Yücel ist ein Journalist, der besonders durch die deutsch-türkische Korrespondenz international bekannt wurde. Als er dann in der Türkei verhaftet wurde, forderte Deutschland und sogar der Europäische Gerichtshof seine Freilassung und sein Fall wurde von den Medien stark verfolgt. Er arbeitete in seiner Karriere bereits als Redakteur der „taz“ und ist heute Türkei-Korrespondenz im Axel Springer Verlag. Außerdem ist er Vorsitzender der Schriftstellervereinigung „PEN Zentrum Deutschland“. Deniz ist schon seit vielen Jahren in einer Beziehung mit Dilek Mayatürk, die als Filmproduzentin arbeitet und hauptsächlich türkische Filme produziert. Sie heirateten im Jahr 2017, während er sich noch in Untersuchungshaft befand.
