35. Keeping Fit on a Doomed Ship
There are surprisingly few photos of the interior of that most famed of doomed vessels, the RMS Titanic. We all know how the story ends, so seeing pictures like this one – of a moustached gentleman working out on the rowing machine (maybe those skills came in handy later…) are utterly fascinating.
The Titanic was the most luxurious ship of its time. Claimed to be unsinkable, and offering the heights of luxury on its maiden voyage between Southampton UK and New York, it boasted a state-of-the-art gymnasium, as we can see from this compelling picture.
