George Gaynes, actor en Punky Brewster y las muchas, MUCHAS películas de Loca academia de policía, tuvo un comienzo tardío en el mundo de la actuación. Nació en Finlandia, sirvió en la marina real holandesa, y después se embarcó en un viaje hacia los Estados Unidos. Consiguió la ciudadanía y luego hizo algunos trabajos en Broadway, consiguiendo algunas partes en obras aquí y allá. Actuó en Tootsie, Cliente muerte no paga, y Tal como éramos, pero no fue hasta 1984 que Gaynes tuvo su gran oportunidad.
