23. Paul Gleason – LUNG CANCER / PLEURAL MESOTHELIOMA
Paul Gleason, who was known as the Assistant Principal in the legendary classic The Breakfast Club, had a very long-lived and fruitful career. One of his most important roles was in the long-running show All My Children. One of his final roles was during an episode of Drake & Josh where he played the part of an erratic judge. But at the height of his success, he passed away in May 2006 because of pleural mesothelioma. It’s a severe type of lung cancer contracted from long exposure to asbestos (he apparently worked on construction sites as a teenager).
