Renée Zellweger arbeitete hart daran, die Rolle der Titelrolle in der Kultkomödie Bridget Jones’s Diary zu bekommen. Am Anfang war sie zu dünn, also änderte sie ihre Ernährung und ging auf Kaloriensuche mit Pasta, Schokoriegeln, Butter, Milchshakes, etc. Nun, es klingt nicht so schlecht für uns, alles zu essen, was du willst. Die Schauspielerin nahm in kürzester Zeit 20 Pfund zu und sicherte sich die Rolle, später gelang es ihr, wieder zu ihrer schönen Figur zurückzukehren. Für Zellweger, die unter Gewichtsschwankungen leiden musste, war es jedoch nicht so einfach, aber sie erzielte schließlich Erfolg.
